Oktoberfest
Join us for the Oktoberfest Race: a fun, fall favorite.
This will be a Le Mans start, a sail to the far end of the Bay, then return for a team pitcher of beer. More on the format below!

Regatta Format
This will be a Le Mans start. At your starting time, you'll motor from the FHYC dock to the first buoy, begin sailing, round a second buoy at the far end of the Bay, then return and cross the finish line.
Your initial finish time will be recorded. But the competition isn't over yet...
Once you dock your boat, your crew will finish a pitcher of beer together. Each team will be ranked by how fast they finish their pitcher. Based on your team's pitcher challenge placement, you'll receive a time deduction from your initial finish time.
For instance:
1st place = minus 15 seconds
2nd place = minus 12 seconds
Etc. (Exact deductions may vary based on participation)
Awards
Stick around after the race for a potluck-style Oktoberfest celebration at the yacht club.
Thursday Night Series trophies and awards will also be handed out.
